We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to attend this weekend’s Northumberland Plate Festival, taking place from Thursday 23 June until Saturday 25 June.
With rail strikes taking place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday this week, we wanted to outline the transport options in place alongside additional measures to help you get here.
Plan ahead
We’d recommend you leave extra time to travel to the racecourse. Gates open two hours before the first race and there’ll be plenty of bars and eateries open from gates open.
Thursday 23 June: Gates open: 11.00, first race: 1.00pm, last race: 4.30pm
Friday 24 June: Gates open: 3.00pm, first race: 4.55pm, last race: 8.20pm, Event ends: 10.00pm
Saturday 25 June: Gates open: 11.00, first race: 1.15pm, last race: 5.15pm, event ends: 7.00pm
Book your taxi in advance
We do strongly advise you to pre-book your taxis for the end of the evening if required. We recommend LA Taxis: 0191 2877777
Taxi pick up point at the racecourse
The taxi pick up point is located at both the East and West side of the estate.
Plenty of space for parking at the racecourse
If you are driving to the racecourse, please be assured we have plenty of free parking available.
Can leave cars overnight and collect the next day
Cars can be left overnight and collected the following day from the racecourse. Please let the Stewards know when parking that you are leaving your car overnight
Local bus information
Shuttle buses will run from Four Lane Ends and Regent centre metro stations. In addition, Shuttle buses will be running after the last race into the centre of Newcastle on a first-come first-serve basis until after the concert finishes.
Tickets are still available in advance and on the day to attend racing.
