Some of the most successful horses were Comedy of Errors and Birds Nest who both achieved 3 wins each in the seventies. In more recent times,
Constitution Hill our most recent winner produced another sublime performance in landing the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth 2022 on his delayed reappearance. Last season’s outstanding novice enhanced both his form and standing with an easy twelve-length success over the 2021 Fighting Fifth dead-heaters Epatante and Not So Sleepy.
In 2024, the title went to the sublime Sir Gino. In the absence of stablemate Constitution Hill, the joint-favourite galloped into the lead at the top of the straight before securing a comfortable win for Nicky Henderson's Seven Barrows yard. The unbeaten four-year-old and jockey Nico de Boinville finished ahead of Lump Sum and Kihavah in second and third.
