The Eider Chase is a prestigious National Hunt steeplechase held here at Newcastle Racecourse every February.
Covering a challenging distance of approximately 4 miles and 1½ furlongs (4 miles, 1 furlong, and 56 yards, or 6,690 meters), the race features 24 fences that test the skill and stamina of every horse and jockey.
First run in 1952, the Eider Chase is often considered an important trial for the Grand National, with many horses using it as a key preparation for the famous race.
The most recent winner of the Eider Chase was Anglers Crag (pictured) ridden by Henry Brooke trained by Brian Ellison.
Who will take the title for 2025?
Past winners include Kittys Light in 2023, Win My Wings in 2022 and Sam's Adventure in 2021.
