The BHA can confirm that Newcastle's fixture on Thursday 30 March has been transferred to Hexham.
This was originally a fixture that had transferred from Sedgefield, however following a request from ARC it has been agreed that moving the fixture elsewhere would best support the management of the turf at Newcastle.
Ben Cook, ARC Head of Group Racing – Fixtures & Funding, said: "With the Jump fixtures at Newcastle proving popular this season and the unusual sequence of weather events it has endured, there has been unprecedented wear and tear to the turf track.
"Despite abandoning the fixture on 7 March, we feel it is appropriate to transfer the fixture on Thursday 30 March thus avoiding a two-day meeting and allowing greater recovery for their remaining Jump fixtures in April and May.
"We would like to thank the BHA, participants and our media partner Hexham for facilitating this transfer which retains these opportunities in the North."
In order to tie in with Hexham’s existing fixture on Tuesday 28 March, a small number of changes have been made to the race conditions of three races on Thursday 30 March to avoid clashes. Full details can be found on the BHA Racing Admin site.
