FAQ’s: Spooktacular Fireworks and Funfair Racenight

We're looking forward to welcoming you to our annual Spooktacular Fireworks & Funfair Racenight! For those who are attending below is some important information you should know before you join us.

Key Timings of the Evening

Gates open: 13:00 (gates will remain open until 19:00) 

Funfair: 13:00 – 20:00

First race: 14:30

Last race: 18:45

Fireworks display: 19:45

Event finish: 20:00

Please note: ALL horses will have left the premises before the fireworks begin. We will not begin the display until all horses have safely vacated the premises. 

Weather Conditions

Please make sure appropriate footwear/clothing is worn. It can get muddy on the fields on site depending on the weather.

Tickets 

All tickets for the event are e-tickets, which is a PDF file you can either print off or show on your phone. To avoid any entry delays and if you are attending with your tickets on your phone, make sure you have downloaded the PDF, as screenshots will not be accepted, and mobile signal may be weak. If you have a cracked phone screen, please make arrangements to print your tickets, as the barcode will not scan from a cracked screen. 

Please allow plenty of time for entry procedures, ticket checks and bag searches. 

Travel Information  

Please use our main car parks which will be FREE of charge for the night, please be aware majority of our car parks will be on the grass fields. Keep in mind that we are expecting large numbers and so recommend leaving extra time for travel. Stewards will be on site to aid those who need accessible parking. 

Park & Ride Service

We will be putting on a FREE park-and-ride service for all ticket holders which we encourage anyone to use due to the high demand for car parking spaces. Please follow the signage to Newcastle Great Park, Park & Ride.vThis is located in the NE13 9NR postcode. Our shuttle buses will be available throughout the event to shuttle you to and from your cars, operating from 13:00 to 21.00.

Entertainment 

Throughout the evening there is a jam-packed agenda of family fun from all-time favourite face painting to fire performers on stage! Stage entertainment will include: 

13.30 – 20.00: Funfair (chargeable)

14.30 – 18.00: Dancers from NCL College performing throughout the day (14.30, 15.35, 16.30, 17.40)

15.00 - 18.00: Roaming Spooky Halloween Characters

15:00 - 17:00: Enter Fancy dress competition (Grandstand Hall)

18.00 - 19.00: Stilt Walkers

15.00 – 19.30: Face painters (chargeable)

17:45 – 19.30: BBC Radio Newcastle Presenter Kelly Scott on stage 

18:00 - Announce winners of fancy dress competition on stage

18.15 – 20:00: Music starts from the stage

18.30: Fire Breathers on Stage

19.29: COUNTDOWN TO FIREWORKS 

19.30: Fireworks and Laser Display choreographed to music

Please note: Fire performers' set times will vary throughout the night.

Payment 

All bars and eateries are CARD ONLY and will not accept cash. On-course bookmakers will still be accepting cash. There are no cash machines onsite, therefore, please ensure you bring cash with you if this is your preferred payment method with bookmakers. Some funfair rides may accept cards, however, we do recommend that you bring cash.  

Health & Safety

Please do not bring any sparklers or fireworks on site.
