The Border Minstrel is not only the perfect pub for families and friends to gather, but also dog friendly, accommodating many of the dog walkers of High Gosforth Park. Nestled right in the grounds of the park, the Border Minstrel is perfectly positioned for the best of town and country. Steeped in history, the pub is named in honour of the 1927 Pitmen’s Derby winner at Newcastle Racecourse.

Named after iconic equine winners at Newcastle Racecourse, the Sergeant Cecil, Tominator, Harchibald and Overturn Marquees are very popular hospitality options across festival race days, and it is advised to book as early as possible.
