Probio Energy Strengthens Partnership with Newcastle Racecourse Through Stand and Race Sponsorships
Probio Energy is pleased to announce the expansion of its partnership with Newcastle Racecourse, becoming the official sponsor of the iconic Colonel Porter Stand, alongside a programme of race sponsorships throughout the racing calendar and the acquisition of a dedicated private hospitality box at the venue.
The partnership marks another significant milestone in Probio Energy’s continued growth and commitment to supporting one of the North East’s premier sporting and entertainment venues.
The relationship between Probio Energy and Newcastle Racecourse began following an unforgettable victory at the racecourse’s popular Good Friday Fixture in 2025, when Heavenly Heather produced one of the biggest shocks in modern British racing by winning at odds of 200-1. The memorable success led to an introduction to Newcastle Racecourse’s commercial team, laying the foundations for a partnership built on shared values, regional pride and long-term collaboration.
Alongside the stand sponsorship, Probio Energy will sponsor a series of races throughout the season, creating opportunities to celebrate the sport while engaging with customers, business partners and guests. The company has also secured its own private hospitality box, offering a premium setting for client entertainment, networking and relationship building during Newcastle Racecourse’s busy programme of racing and events.
To celebrate the partnership, Probio Energy will also be engaging directly with racegoers during Plate Day on Saturday 27th June. The first 100 people to take a photo in front of any Probio Energy branding at Newcastle Racecourse and tag @ProbioEnergy and @Newcastleraces on social media will receive a free drinks voucher, giving visitors another reason to get involved and enjoy one of the racecourse’s biggest and most anticipated fixtures.
As a leading supplier of alternative fuels across the UK and Europe, Probio Energy continues to invest in partnerships that reflect its commitment to sustainability, innovation and supporting regional communities. Its collaboration with Newcastle Racecourse provides an ideal platform to showcase the business to both racing enthusiasts and the wider corporate audience attending the venue throughout the year.
Reflecting on the company’s growing presence at Newcastle Racecourse, Probio Energy Director Kris Baker-Rain said:
“Newcastle Racecourse has been part of my life since childhood, so to return as a racehorse owner and experience such an extraordinary day with Heavenly Heather was incredibly special. Watching her become one of only a handful of horses this century to win at odds of 200-1 is something I’ll never forget.
It was a remarkable result not only for the horse, but for everyone involved. Having a local owner, trainer, jockey and racecourse at the centre of such a memorable moment made it even more meaningful and showcased the strength of racing in the North East.
We are equally proud to see the Probio brand represented throughout the racecourse. From our earliest discussions with the team at Newcastle, we recognised the opportunity to align our business with one of the region’s leading sporting venues and were delighted to become involved.
Supporting local businesses remains a key part of our approach. We worked with Enhance North East to create our branding and marketing materials, drawing on the outstanding talent available within the region. Their creativity and expertise helped bring our vision to life.
Newcastle Racecourse provides an excellent platform to raise awareness of Probio among both racing and business audiences. With a calendar of high-profile events attracting national and international attention, the partnership offers significant exposure and helps us continue building the profile of the business across multiple sectors.”
