Venue Etiquette

What To Wear

The dress code in hospitality areas and the Premier Enclosure is smart casual. Sportswear, trainers and fancy dress are not permitted. Shirts must have a collar, a tie is not essential. Smart jeans and tailored shorts are acceptable.

There is no dress code in the Grandstand, or when One Enclosure is in operation. Fancy dress is allowed, providing it’s decent and would not cause offence to other guests.

There is no dress code for children in the enclosures or hospitality.

Many guests opt to dress smartly for the occasion, especially on feature racedays.

Booking Tickets & Packages

Tickets and packages can be booked via the event page on the website, or by calling 0191 236 2020. Booking in advance is recommended for all fixtures, saving money on the gate price, and it is essential for selected packages and racedays.

Under 18s are admitted free to the enclosures unless otherwise stated on the event page. Please call the racecourse for details of children’s hospitality prices.

Personal Photography & Filming

At all fixtures we ask you to ensure no flash photography takes place near horses, otherwise you are welcome to take photographs for personal, non-commercial use only. During live music and entertainment, the artists’ management retain all image rights. Any photographer that is felt to be impeding or contravening these rights without accreditation and prior written consent will be requested to leave and escorted from the premises.

Live streaming of pictures via any method for any purpose is strictly prohibited at Newcastle Racecourse.

Racecourse Photography & Filming

Professional filming and photography takes place here at Newcastle for various publications and broadcasting.

Racegoers, including families, consent to being filmed, photographed and otherwise recorded by Newcastle Racecourse or any third party authorised by Newcastle Racecourse.

You grant Newcastle Racecourse and any third party authorised by Newcastle Racecourse the right to broadcast, publish, licence and use any photographs, film, recordings or images of you without payment or other compensation in any promotional literature produced by Newcastle Racecourse.

Full copies of our Terms & Conditions are available on request.

Parking

There is ample free parking available onsite for all raceday and event guests. Owners, Trainers and Jockeys have a dedicated car park, opposite the main entrance. Disabled parking is also located in close proximity to the racecourse entrance.

Dogs

With the exception of assistance dogs, no dogs are permitted to enter the racecourse. In the interests of animal welfare, Newcastle Racecourse politely requests that dogs are not left in cars in the car park.

Concessions & Student Discount

Disabled guests, senior citizens (over 60) and students receive £4 discount off the gate price for all racedays. Valid identification must be provided to receive the discount. Registered carers of disabled guests receive free admission for all racedays. Carers must provide proof of their registered status.
